Blended Structure and Style in Composition
by Dr. James B. Webster
While teaching at Dalhousie University in
Halifax, Dr. Webster noted the dismaying lack of writing
skills in freshman students. Over a period of several years,
he designed a program which systematically teaches young
writers how to create intelligent and organized compositions
often exceeding university expectations. Eventually, he
authored this textbook outlining in detail how to teach
writing using structure and direct teaching. Later,
stylistic techniques were added to the syllabus. This book
includes nine units: note taking skills, summarizing, story
writing, simple reports, stories from pictures, research
papers, personal essays, research essays, and critiquing.
306 pages full of detailed instructions on the teaching of
writing. Recommended for grades 3-12 and college
preparation.
Softcover laminated, coiled for easy use
