Blended Structure and Style in Writing was developed by Dr. J.B. Webster
(professor emeritus from Dalhousie University) when he noted the dismaying lack
of writing skills in the upper grade levels as well as at the university level.
The writing program he created is designed to give structure, direction, and
purpose to all your writing classes. At the same time, creativity will blossom
as various styles are crafted into compositions. Nine units in the syllabus will
be presented. Both expository and creative writing are a part of the syllabus.
Children's samples at various grade levels will be shown. Suitable to grades one
and up, this method will appeal to all who strive for excellence in writing in
their classrooms.
One and two-day seminars are available on Fridays and Saturdays, as Betty
Wiebe team-teaches a grade five class in Three Hills, Alberta. See "Summer
